~Tiny Turns One! : Baby Photography~

August 15, 2010 at 12:11am. One year ago...that is when my little Violet entered this world and changed my life forever. Giving birth and becoming a first-time-mom is such a whirlwind! The sequence of events can really be quite a blur! But I remember that moment…8/15/10 at 12:11am…I remember it as clear as day. The moment they set her on my stomach and when I heard her cry for the first time. The moment they put her in my arms, we looked at each other, and I said “hi.” There are no words to describe that feeling.

I never knew it was possible to love someone SO MUCH. I was also totally unprepared for how this little person changes your entire outlook on life. She makes me want to be a better person every day. I want to solve all the world’s problems so she can grow up in a better place. One thing is for sure…no matter what life throws at me, all I have to do is look at her, and I am reminded of how blessed I am.

I have to say, this past year has flown by. I hate that motherhood seems to press the fast forward button on life. It seems like, one minute, she was a 7 pound newborn, and the next minute she’s rolling, crawling, standing and now walking! While each stage passes way too quickly, every new chapter in her life is SO incredibly exciting and fun.

Today, my Little Tiny turns ONE YEAR OLD. It’s been the fastest and most amazing 12 months of my life. Of course, I would like to take this opportunity to share some Tiny photos, old and new!! I had a REALLY difficult time narrowing these down, so get comfy...there are quite a few. :)

~Oliver James : Newborn Photography~

I just love when friends have babies.  I get to hold them and remember that feeling of someone so tiny and precious in your arms.  The only negative is that it gives me Baby Fever!  I have to remind myself that I already have my hands full with my almost-12-month-old, Violet (more on that in an upcoming blog post!).

Anyway, back to my friend's baby.  My good friend and photographer Emily, of Emily Hutson Photography, recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.  His name is Oliver James, and I got to meet him only a few days after he was born.  I can't resist taking pictures of newborns, so of course, the camera came with me.  Violet tagged along too, so it was interesting trying to take pictures of a sleeping newborn with a very loud, very curious 11-month-old on the scene.  We got a few good shots, nonetheless.  :)

I feel so lucky that I've had the opportunity to meet and photograph so many newborns lately!   And here is another...meet Annette!  Also known as Annie.  She is the daughter of my friend and former co-worker, Emily, and she is absolutely adorable!!  Annie sent Mom & Dad to the hospital on Easter Sunday, and was born in the wee hours that night.  She knows how to make an entrance.  :)

I, along with my friend Emily (of Emily Hutson Photography) couldn't wait to meet this little beauty.  Of course, we had to snap a few pictures!

I am so, so happy to introduce Gianna Maria! She is the daughter of my good friend Christina. Also known as Gia or Gigi, she was just 9 days old when we met for pictures.

I always love photographing a newborn, but it is even more special when that newborn belongs to a good friend. It is simply amazing to see a friend become a mom. Not to mention, Gia is a beautiful little angel!!

~Vannina Lenore~

I am so very excited to welcome this little one to my blog. Introducing Vannina Lenore!! (That's pronounced:  vah-NEE-nah).  She was just 9 days old at the time of our session. She was so precious, tiny and adorable…she melted my heart. I’m learning that is what newborns do best!

Similar to my last newborn session, I met Vannina’s parents through Janice of Peaceful Birthing. I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating….if you are at all interested in natural childbirth, Janice’s class is amazing! She teaches a technique called Hypnobirthing. If you are at all curious, you should check out Janice’s website here.

Back to Vannina.  :)  As the pictures will clearly show, she is a little angel. I really enjoyed getting to know her parents, Sara & Sam. They are just head-over-heels in love with their little girl, and it is so beautiful to witness that.
