~Vannina Lenore~

I am so very excited to welcome this little one to my blog. Introducing Vannina Lenore!! (That's pronounced:  vah-NEE-nah).  She was just 9 days old at the time of our session. She was so precious, tiny and adorable…she melted my heart. I’m learning that is what newborns do best!

Similar to my last newborn session, I met Vannina’s parents through Janice of Peaceful Birthing. I’ve said this before, but it’s worth repeating….if you are at all interested in natural childbirth, Janice’s class is amazing! She teaches a technique called Hypnobirthing. If you are at all curious, you should check out Janice’s website here.

Back to Vannina.  :)  As the pictures will clearly show, she is a little angel. I really enjoyed getting to know her parents, Sara & Sam. They are just head-over-heels in love with their little girl, and it is so beautiful to witness that.

Well, I could gush on and on about how much I love photographing newborns, but I think you get the point.  :)  Without further delay, here are a few of my favorite images from Vannina’s session. Enjoy!

~Luke~

I’m excited to introduce Luke! He was just barely a week old at the time of our shoot. Luke’s parents and I connected through my former birth instructor, Janice of Peaceful Birthing. (If you are at all interested in natural childbirth, you should check out Janice’s website here.)

I've said this before, but I absolutely love when I get the opportunity to photograph a newborn. It is such an honor to capture these images when they are so new to the world. Luke was so tiny and perfect in every way. He was also wide awake for the entire shoot!! We tried every trick in the book to get him sleepy, but he didn’t want to miss out on any of the fun!

We were also able to capture a few shots with Luke’s big brother, 7 year-old Adam, who was a natural in front of the camera.

Below are a few of my favorite images from our session. Enjoy!

adorable luke!

Thanks to Luke’s parents, Addie & Dan, for allowing me the opportunity, and the honor, to document this very special time for your family. It was such a pleasure meeting your family, and I hope you love every image. And most importantly, congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!

~Ella~

Meet Ella!  I had the pleasure of first meeting her over a year ago when she was just a baby.  She was around 7 months old, and I was just starting to get into photography. (If you have one of my business cards, Ella is actually the baby featured on the back).  Ella’s mom, Jen, was originally referred to me by a previous client.  Upon meeting for the first time, Jen and I realized that we already knew each other, as we used to work for the same company.  What a coincidence!!

Another interesting coincidence is that Ella is affectionately called "Tiny" by her parents.  As most of you probably know, my little one is called Tiny too!  Maybe I subconsciously picked this up when I did Ella’s first shoot, over a year ago.

Recently, Jen and I were chatting and decided we should introduce the two Tinys...they hit it off right away!  This also gave me an opportunity to put my Little Tiny Studio into action.  How fitting, the first client for Little Tiny Studio was named Tiny.   :)

Below are a few of the resulting images of the beautiful Miss Ella, aka Tiny, who is now nearly 2 years old. Enjoy!

~Little Tiny Studio~

As a natural light photographer, I usually dread the winter.  Obviously, natural light is most abundant outside, so my preference is to shoot outdoors whenever I can.  This past winter, however, I really started to embrace indoor photography.  Perhaps this had something to do with how LONG and incredibly COLD the winter was!  It really forced me to work with the lighting conditions, no matter where I was shooting.

On another note, I've worked with clients recently who prefer more of a studio look for their photos (as opposed to the more candid type of work I usually do).  I really started getting into this as well.  Now that I have a little one of my own, I definitely enjoy capturing some more formal shots of her.

So, I decided to combine these two things:  indoor photography & studio photography.  I put some extra space in my house to good use, and set up a little in-home, natural light studio.  I wanted to keep it fairly simple...just some nice backdrops, great natural lighting, and an adorable subject to shoot.  :)   I think the end result is sophisticated and timeless.

With that, I would like to introduce... Little Tiny Studio!  Below are a few sample shots, courtesy of Tiny herself.  :)

have you heard about Little Tiny Studio??

little diva :)

it's spring, but i'm still wearing my winter hat!

I will most definitely continue to do on location shoots, but I'm excited to start offering studio sessions as another option.  Studio sessions will take place in 1 hour increments.  And please note, the studio is literally quite little/tiny...so it works best for little ones, individuals, or small families (not large groups).  :)

Contact me for more information, pricing and availability.  We would love to see you at Little Tiny Studio!

~Alaina Makenzie~

I’m excited to introduce, the beautiful, the adorable Alaina Makenzie! She was 3 months old at the time of our photo shoot. Not only is she a major cutie, she is also quite the fashionista!

We had lots of fun for her photo session, but towards the end, she grew bored with me and fell asleep.  :)

Below are a few of my favorites!

~Joey~

Allow me to introduce Joey!  He was 6 months old at the time of our photo shoot.  I have to say, 6 months is one of my favorite ages to photograph.  Their little personality really starts to shine through, and they have all sorts of little tricks up their sleeve.  They can sit up, be on their tummy, roll, bounce, but they can't run away from the camera yet!

I had a great time capturing these images.  Joey is such a little cutie with the most amazing eyes!  Below are a few of my favorite images from our session.  Enjoy!

adorable joey... he has the biggest, most beautiful brown eyes!!
